I am the youngest team member working with GTX at age 14, so therefore the least experienced. It has always been my dream to make a game of some kind, but have never been able to get a team of more than 3 or 4 who share that dream. So when Dave introduced me to the project, and explained that I was the only one he could think of that had access to a Mac, I was more than happy to join the team. While I am only testing at the moment within the team, I'm picking up tricks from the rest of the team as we work through our projects, and hope to be an invaluable member of the team and to help bring you gamers games that you love.
My first encounter with a computer was at a fairly young age. As soon as we had one, I discovered one of the many joys of computing; games. I started with games such as "Learn to Read with Winnie the Pooh" and "Learn Math with Elmo". As I grew older, I began looking at games such as the original Age of Empires (remember that?). Then, last year, I discovered a new genre - First Person Shooters. At this point, I was using linux, and learning the basics of programming and game design, and wanting to create my own game more than ever.
I started experimenting with my computer, building basic programs in Visual Basic whenever I used Windows, and picking up what I could about other languages by pulling apart their code. I also built my knowledge of Linux and Mac OS X, which is a great help now to fix problems with libraries and the like. I even built my own Linux system, which is still in the works.
Dave has encouraged me to learn other languages, such as C# and PHP. Unfortunately, a break from this caused me to forget everything, but I am working at it again.
I go to school in Perth, Western Australia. At school, my electives include Applied Information Technology and Game Design, which should help me work within GTX.
